Three Months Old

Well today our little princess is 3months old and its amazing how fast time flies. She is so cute with the chubby cheeks, constant smiles (except when I get the camera out) and her coo's. She's hanging out with dad and I actually got to catch some talking on camera. The Bumbo chair is fun to see her sit and look around. I had the vidoe camera out and by the time I switched to the camera I know how to transfer movies on she was starting to get alittle bugged by the time I got this. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Happy 3 months Boo!

* Turn off the music on the blog so you can hear her*

A Nice Visit

My Grandma Kika, Grandpa Bob and friend Jacquie came for up for a visit over the long weekend to see the sweet babies (and the rest of us but you know the babies are the main reason). The bummer was that we headed to Tucson but when we got back we got to see them. Grandma Kika made Addi and Charlize these cute hats and they were so fun to watch with Grandma. My cousin Jennifer and her hubby Forest came over and got to see the babies as well. Thanks so much for coming up - we love you!! Hope to see you again soon!

Ear Piercing

I had my ears pierced when I was two weeks old and always wanted it for my little girl. Well the time has come and we have a little girl of our own and were looking forward to getting it done. Well, until I heard her scream for her two month shots and then I wasn't so sure. We were going to get it done before we left for Tucson, but I TOTALLY chickened out. My sister Eleanore was making fun of me for being so wimpy about it, but urgh I just wasnt ready.
Today was the day though and Nate wouldn't let me back out. We went to the mall and picked out the studs - we could have gone for the CZ's (because you know I like sparkle) but I just felt like it made her too old so we went for the white gold studs.
Charlize was such a trooper and was all for hanging out in the store with all the stuff to look at. Daddy held her so she felt secure. Bummer it was one ear at a time, but she didn't scream like she did with her shots and she only cried for a little while after.

Tucson Trip

For the New Year I got a new ride. Here's the new Mom Mobile. We took it to Tucson to put some miles on it and get it ready to haul by the time we got home. Turns out we'd end up hauling alot sooner than that.
Nate's cousin Steven is leaving to serve a mission in Independence,Missiori and we went to see him and his family.

Hanging out in the hotel

Yea, Happy Baby!

Well, boys-will-be-boys and we ended up needing to haul Devan's truck home. Thankfully the cousins had a neighbor who had a trailer we could borrow to haul it on. Some of the tires were questionable so we planned on it taking longer than usual.

We had just gotten to the outskirts of Pheonix when we had a flat tire on the trailer. Ironically it was the best tire that the boys all predicted would be the one tire that would make it home. Easy off and on with a spare and on the road again.

Here we have a very happy baby! There's also a very happy mommy behind the camera because although she smiles so much these days, the moment a camera comes out smiles are hard to capture. We had a long way to go and I knew eventually I'd catch one.

We pulled off at Camp Verde to fuel up and as we were flipping around to get back n the road a tire simply popped off. We didn't even notice, but Nate's parents saw it and we stopped to check what had happened. The axel had actually broken and what else could we do but wire it up and go slower.
Here's our super trucker Nate.
I'm hanging in here pretty well, right?! We're gonna make it eventually . . .
Between Fredonia and Colorado City we blew the second tire and again were really lucky to have a place to pull off and get it fixed before it got dark.
Another stop meant another chance to get out of the carseat and Charlize was really happy since her patience was beginning to wear thin. I went out to take pictures and Aunt Diana got her out for the break. They look a little worried about this one so I reassured them that we'd be back on the road in no time.
Yea! We made it - 12 hours from Tucson to home, but safe and happy too. She was ready to stretch out on the consol and check out the driver's seat. Hey cowgirl - you're gonna be a truck girl too, just like you're mama.
Although the trip home was long it was a nice weekend and we're so excited for Steven! We were definitly looked over since the problems with the tires could have been alot worse.

Baby Blessing

This past sunday we blessed Charlize. It was kinda crazy to do it right after the holiday's with everything being so jumbled, but it all worked out great. We were so happy to have friends and family around us; not only for the blessing but also for the luncheon at our house afterward. Thanks to all who came! And if you didn't make it, we missed you.

Two Month Appointment

Yesterday was Charlize's two month appointment and first round of shots. The Dr. was impressed with her weight gain - up to 12 1/2 lbs and 23 inches long. That's a pound over the average weight for babies her height. O, did she show that she has a set of lungs on her after the first shot and I'm glad the second was quickly after because I wanted to bawl right with her. At least she got cute sparkly band-aids.

She was so tired the rest of the evening.

I didn't tell about our New Year's because - well, it was very uneventful. Nate was off roping and I took pictures of Charlize before her bath. My how she's grown!

Christmas Break

Christmas has come and gone, but there was so much going on I couldn't hardly keep up. So here's a run through of how the Winter break went. . .

First, Charlize and I went to deliver presents to the Doctors office that took care of me while I was pregnant with the princess (also where my mom, sister and I work). Charlize was pretty tuckered out from all the gift giving so she took a nap while helping Una (Grandma Patte).

Christmas eve brought Grandma B's party with friends and family. There's always alot of good food and Nate made his yummy chile again. Then Christmas day dinner was at our house with my family. I made the dinner (yep-me. I made it and it actually tasted really good).

My dad and brother made Addison and Charlize rocking horses. Addi is so cute whe was spurring away. Charlize wasn't into it as much, but she will soon. Nate's already helping her practice her roping skills.
The day after Christmas we avoided all shopping areas, but made it out to lunch with Grandma and Grandpa B. Charlize is so funny with the different facial expressions that she makes.

Sturday we were off to Mesquite for Nate to rope. Charlize and I mostly hung out in the horsetrailer, nice and warm.
