5 Months

Saturday we went to have some family pictures taken,
but I knew I wanted some of our own so WE took these ourselves . . .
*All but the first photo have been edited,
I'll post about them later,
for now hope you enjoy.

Yep, another month has come and gone and our sweet baby is another month older. I remember being pregnant, counting the weeks, excitedly waiting the next progression of how my baby was growing and changing. Now it feels like the months just speed by and as much as I look forward to her progression I have a slight pang of dread that time has ceased crawling by and now speeds ahead. Don't get me wrong I want to appreciate and enjoy each stage of my life, its just amazing how fast it seems to go by and there's no slowing down anytime soon.

  • Rolling over from belly to back :)
  • Loves to eat cereal
  • Still likes to be swaddled to sleep (for the longer naps)
  • Gets distance when sneezing
  • Loves to touch faces (and has the sweetest smile while doing so)
  • Has a great grip
  • Would sleep till 8:00am if I didn't have to wake her up to go for the day :(
  • Loves her pony bouncer, and bounces like crazy
  • Loves horses and dogs, she giggles when she pets them
  • Loves her Baby Signing Time DVD from Aunt Soni & Uncle Kelby - Thanks!
  • Signs milk (its not consistant but she'll do it around eating time)
  • Has a high-pitched squeal that comes out randomly when she's laughing
  • We're so excited for everything she does and love her SO MUCH!

Camping

Last weekend we were debating to call up our friends and head out to the sand dunes, but turned out they were going in a few weeks (so we'll join them then) but this weekend they were headed up to Enterprise Reservoir to camp and ride four wheelers. So up we went - and we had a lot of fun! We met up with Kaleb&Roxane, Ryan&Kasey, and Ryan's grandparents.
We got there a little later than the others - they'd already been out on a ride.
Here's the girls.

Here's the master chief, making dinner. Dutch oven potatoes and hamburgers. Yum!
For dessert he made us all dutch oven Peach Cobbler! Double yum!

Don't worry Boo, you'll get to eat some of Dad's food soon.
Come on smile for the camera . . .

I still can't get a smile out of you?

O, isn't he amazing? I know I already said how amazing he is, so lets say . . .
incredible! He takes us camping and cooks too.

After dinner, out to the campfire we went. C thought that it was intriguing and wouldn't take her eyes off of it. You know how tantalizing those colors are. I'd move away every so often so she wouldn't burn her retinas. *I know you probably can't burn your retina's with a campfire, but you gotta wonder she was glued to it!

For the first time sleeping in the trailer, the little one did pretty well. She woke up whimpering a couple of times and as I checked on her I was hoping "please go back to sleep, please go back to sleep I don't want to crawl down that little ladder to go get you a bottle". Of course I would have if she needed it, but the little trooper went back to sleep. Unfortunately she was awake before the sun came up and we were really tired then. We put her her in bed with us and luckily she feel back a sleep for an hour.

I know this is kind of an odd picture, but I was pretty excited. Boo had bedhead. In order to have bedhead one must have hair that can be messed up. Sweet! Its growing!

Funny how things like bedhead and fat rolls are so cute on babies, but as we grow up they are no longer cute. We should change our thinking and learn to appreciate those simple things again. ;P just a thought.

After breakfast we headed out for a ride. Pretty cool, Ryan's grandparents came along with us, even though it wasn't the smoothest ride ever. Boo didn't notice any of the action because she slept while I held her- snug little bug.

After lunch we headed out for another ride. As you can tell from the change in the sky color, it was colder - but still fun. We wanted to finish the trail that we had worked on in the morning (making a big loop back to camp) but the higher we got the deeper the snow drifts got and after a while we headed back the way we came. One of these day's we'll finish the trail.

It was a fun little camping trip. We look forward to going again soon!

Hanging Out on Spring Break

Here's C busting a move! She is so funny with her new pike action. She hate's laying on her back now (not that she was ever still before) but now it frusterates her to lay there. Her facial expressions are so funny to me.

Here's our bathing beauty 12/31 at 2 months
and here she is at 4 1/2 months. We love the rolls. :P

My dear friend Gwen knows how much I LOVE WYOMING and sent us the cutest care package full of Wyo gear for the future Wyo fan. I tend to not care for bows since I got her ears peirced (too me it feels like she's TOO accessorized) but without it she looked like a cowboy instead of a cowgirl. THANKS GWEN! We love it all!

We have quite a quantity of stuff for baby to eat on hand for meal time. She had such a strong allergy to cow's milk so we had her on Nutramagin - which was wonderful while we had samples then I realized how expensive it was ($25 per small can - double the cost of the others). So ever so slowly we added small amounts of the GentleEase; which has broken down cow's milk protein to work her into being able to have it. (So now that's two cans to have on hand at all times). However, she continued to spit up so the pedi. gave us the A.R. to try (it has cow's milk protein but is thickened with rice cereal). So now we have 3 cans and I had to go get new bottle nipples because the A.R. clogs. So we alternate between types of formula each day, and that's the reasoning behind the 3 formula cans.

Now we're eating cereal and she likes it :) but the spitting up still continues. I know, I know, babies spit up - maybe I need to ba around some more to compare to because to me she spits up alot. Yep that projectile stuff is crazy - burp rag always on hand. We actually wonder if its due to her activity - all those pikes and crunches might be doing wonder for her growing muscles but it doesn't help keep the food down.

Yep, I use the Bumbo chair to feed her in for now, but getting a high chair is just around the corner. Since I went to Germany I wanted on like this because my Aunt had one for each of my cousins and I loved how they transitioned as the kiddos grew. I am so tired to baby stuff being bulky and hard to store so I was thinking maybe I'd get a thin/slender one instead.
Thanks Joni for the link to modernnursery.com where I found this thin/slender one that makes my heart go pitter-patter with its non-bulkiness. :P

Sunday

I just love the weekends! Especially this one since I knew it was the beginning of my Spring Break and a whole week to do what I wanted! (well, you know within reason ;P I do have to still work around someone's schedule). We had fun together just playing with our sweet baby. I don't know why her tounge sticks out just barely (I sure hope she grows out of that). Yep and finally I get to be in a picture!

Random Things

  • On Monday we had Charlize's 4 month appointment. She's in the 90% for height and weight. I never understood that measurement so I finally asked (I'm telling you because I might not be the only one out there who didn't know what it meant). 90% of babies her age are shorter and weight less than her. Yep she's healthy.
  • I brought out the warm weather clothes today. I know to others outside of St. George its seems early but I know its just around the corner. It was really nice trying on some and knowing that I could fit into them again (well most of them) - and kindof a bummer because I know that my shape has changed and even if I lose the final 10 lbs will I be as small as before? Probably not, but I am so glad that bodies morph back - because GEEZ! My hips were huge! Thanks to all those who kept it to themselves. I couldn't really control how wide my hips got. Plus think about it - I pushed out a 7 lbs watermelon things had to change.

  • I brought out the warm weather clothes because, well, I am tired of having clothes in my closet that I don't wear. I hold on to them for the "one-day" occasion that I might need that shirt or shirts that are just a little too short because I thought I could make it work with my long torso. Or those workout pants that just fit funny on me, but I thought I could make them work. Anyways, they are still in great shape and I thought it would be fun to have a clothes swapping party. Don't worry I'll work out the details and let you know. I might just try it out on a few friends (testers) and see how it goes. I think it'll be fun - trade some of my good-but-ready-to-get-rid-of cothes for someone else's good-but-ready-to-get-rid-of. anyhow, more to come on that.

  • Spring Break is in two days and I am SOOO EXCITED! It's been an rough couple of weeks and I am so looking forward to a few days of hanging out with my bebe and getting some things done (like naps, cleaning and hobby stuff).

A Fun Weekend

This weekend was definitly needed - yea it was one of those weeks that makes one just look forward to being with the family and getting a relaxing break together.

Charlize has been eyeing our food for a while now and showing other signs that she's about ready to try some cereal. So Friday was the day to try it out and yep she liked it. There is a little bit of practice to work on keeping it all in her mouth, but she kept wanting more -notice how with each picture she's leaning closer and closer to me :)

Saturday morning my mom, Eleanore and I went to try Zumba with a friend Kris and
We LOVED it! It was so much fun! Yea we're a little uncordinated with it but with a little practice it'll be alot smoother. No I didn't get any pictures 'cause you don't want to see us at working out but if I would have you'd see bright smiles from having a great work out!
Then off to lunch at Wingers. Yep we love their salads.

My cute sister Elle and I.
Nate hates it when I take pictures but one of these days he'll be glad that I take so many and wish that he would have just smiled instead of hiding behind a glass of Diet Coke.

Then for some shopping (more about that later) but here's sweet Charlize and Addison.

Can't tell they're cousins, huh? Addi turns one this coming Saturday.

They are so cute together!

After quite an eventful day, it was time to get ready for bed. Well, not just yet.
Time for some Daddy/Daughter time and playing with Dad's cowboy hat. When Charlize was a newborn the only way we could get her to sleep the first little while was laying on one of our chests, but now she just pushes up for tummy time.

I think we've got a little character coming through. . .

I think this is her tough cowgirl face - or goofball face.

Either way pretty cute don't you think?!

4 Months Old

This is a few days late, but last Saturday I turned 4 months old. Mommy & Daddy (along with Grandmas, Grandpas, friends and family members) can't believe that I am so old. They tell me all the time how much I've grown and how cute I am. Here are some more things about me:

  • I sleep at least 10 hours each night (in my own crib, in my own room).
  • I giggle and laugh (especially when I see myself in the mirror).
  • I like my hands! I can grab and shake toys. I also have a mean pinch!
  • I sit with my tounge sticking just barely out of my mouth.
  • I love to be swaddled when its sleepy time, but I have to free my arms before I'm all the way asleep.
  • I love to watch my dog, Daizy and my daddy as he rides my horses.
  • I hold my head up really well and have for quite a while.

  • I practically skipped size 1 diapers and am on my way out of size 2.
  • I don't sit in my Bumbo chair very well because I know if I sqwirm enough I just might be able to get out.
  • I can fall asleep anywhere.
  • Mom gets so excited when people compliment on what a happy baby I am. (Psst- its cause I know when I'm going to eat and sleep).
  • I have alot of people that love me!
  • I love it when Daddy helps me rope and flies me like an airplane.
  • I love to look at logos or graphics on shirts or even just interesting patterns.
  • I suck on my bottom lip.

Roping

When you see this . . .

There's always this going on.

And of course we're there supporting our favorite roper:

*Just In* This is Charlize preparing for an exciting day ahead. I've got a full belly, Mom's got the stroller ready and of course her camera's always on hand. I'm ready to go! Get me out of this horse trailer so I can cheer on my daddy! The suspense is making me a nervous wreck!

Go Daddy!
Yes! My turn on the horse!
It won't be long before I'm out there too.
Hey there cowboy!

The excitment of the daymust have gotten to her
and she was out. She actually slept for almost
2 hours. Odie was right there just waiting
for her to wake up and play.

I visited with Doug's wife, Mary, and they were kind enough to let me take pictures of their sweet baby Grace. It was so nice to have Mary to talk to, especially since our babies are 2 weeks apart. Here's one I liked - Thanks again for letting me take pictures of her.
