Baby Belly

So I finally got down to taking some pictures of the belly. I didn't really feel like taking them before because I just looked like I had eaten too much and gained some weight. Now its looking like a pregnant belly. We're in the 5th month and just over half way done. I don't like the traditional pregnant pose 'cause I felt dumb so I felt like the goofing off pictures made me feel more comfortable. Nate said the hands-on-hip looked a little sassy but I felt like I looked better so I put them both on. These pictures were taken at night so it shows a little more than during the day. You know, by that point it kinda lets loose.

Last week I had a quick appointment and the Dr. went to measure my belly as I laid down, but there was nothing there because she kept sinking into me. Now, (funny that its only been one week) she pokes out when I lay down. Not a lot, but its not flat. I can feel kicking and movement, but my favorite is when there is a distinct large, hard mass there to feel. It's big enough I would think it was head, bum, or back but I don't know which one.

I get hot easier than before, but and I am back to eating regular foods. Yeah! I still snack a lot on crackers and fruit throughout the day. Before I was prego I would get crabby when I needed to eat and now I feel nauseous, so I'll stick to snacking.

Daddy's Little Girl

There's a nurse at my doctor's office that's really sweet to us, answers all our questions, and got us an ultrasound sneak peek of our baby a few weeks early. Well, she said that the day we went in for our official ultrasound to find out the sex, she just knew we were going to have a girl. I know we were really rooting for a boy so I asked her later how she knew and she said, "every little girl needs a dad like Nate. He'll show her all the cool dad stuff, teach her how to be strong and love her for being his little girl." I know he will too. He'll be wrapped around her little finger. I think it'll be very sweet especially since I never got to be a Daddy's girl and look forward to our little girl having that connection with her dad.

Ben and Tiffanee's Wedding

My older brother Ben got married last Saturday (6/14) to Tiffanee and here's a picture of our family (so far).

Here's a picture of the girls: Carli, Sonrisa, Addison, Eleanore, Mom, me and Aunt Roberta. My Aunt Roberta, cousins Carli, Rico and Robbie came up from California. It was a quick trip for but so fun to see them.

Addison was a trooper in the heat. Our friend Joni kept her in the visitor's center when we weren't taking pictures.

Day with Auntie

Last Friday I got to go up to Enterprise and spend the day with Addison. It was a nice relaxing day with lots of smiles and naps. She just loves her bath and not in a splashing-around-giggling-way but more like it was her enjoyable spa treatment. I took several pictures but some were a little blurry (working on the camera situation). I just love my sweet niece and am thankful for the days I can be with her this summer!

Long Time, No See

Last Thursday I got to take a quick trip to Vegas to see my friend Teri, Kim, and her two little girls Isabella and Lillian. The three of us went to school at Sheridan College together and Kim now lives in Australia so I haven't gotten to see her since we finished up school in 2003. Kim's little girls were fun, and it was so nice to get to catch up on old times, remember fun experiences, and get a new take on current events. I showed Kim how to blog so I am hoping I can keep in better touch with her and up on what's going on in her life. Thank goodness for good friends!

Its a . . . .

I wish that I would have taken a running poll on what gender everyone thought the baby was going to be. I just knew it was going to be a boy, Nate of course wanted a boy but everyone else seemed to think it was a girl. Well, we had our ultrasound on Tuesday the 3rd and we were both very excited. I was more in pain than excited by the time we got there (come on do we really need to drink that much water? It was torture! I just knew I was going to pee my pants at any moment). The tech started taking pictures and after a little bit she said I could go to the bathroom, so I went but held a little because I didn't know if I was supposed to or not. Well the baby wouldn't budge, laying bottom up, legs crossed, head wedged by my bladder and hands up by its head the entire time. Urgh extra pressure on the bladder so I went to the bathroom again and the baby flipped over this time. I couldn't see it really well but the tech said that its a girl and I was totally shocked because I just knew it was a boy. O and she's a thumb-sucker because she was doing it the entire time. It was neat to see her fingers move and tounge sucking away. I sucked my thumb so I guess its hereditary. We didn't get a movie of the ultrasound, but got some pictures. We had the boy name picked out and we don't have any set girl name, so if you have any suggestions please let me know. I want it to be a country girl name and of course a little unique.

Our Cruise to Mexico

Disclaimer: This was my first cruise ever. We went on Royal Caribbean to the Mexican Riviera. I took some pictures but hoped that the others on the cruise would share their pictures, so these are just what I have. If I spelled some names wrong, I apologize.

We spent Saturday night in Anaheim, CA and boarded the ship Sunday morning. This is us hanging out waiting to go. I thought that first photo was funny because I am sitting right next to Nate and I totally cropped it without meaning to. :)

We went to see our room and loved the balcony. Remember this was my first cruise and definitely spoiled to have the balcony and we loved it! They had Ben&Jerry's ice cream so while we were hanging out we got a treat. When the camera is turned on me I tend to make funny faces.

Monday - Formal night was a little rough for me, since I don't fit into hardly any of my dresses or clothes without going and purchasing a new wardrobe. So I took a few things that would work and hey, give the pregnant lady some slack.

The first port of call (Tuedasy) was Cabo san Lucas, Mexico. We didn't have any excursions planned so we took the tender to the port and walked around down town. We ate at Cabo Wabo and found my own sport fishing company. It was fun to walk around, but the heat was getting to me a bit so we ended going back to the boat by 2:30. Cabo is suppose to that the best beaches, but it would have been alot more walking to get to them, so we just enjoyed the view.

Wednesday - The second port was Mazatlan, Mexico and we liked this day the best. We took an open air taxi (traditional crazy drivers) into town to see a traditional show with several different performances. We walked thorough town several blocks (shopping along the way) to the resort where we were scheduled to have lunch, swim at the pool or go down to the beach. Nate's cousins parasailed right off the beach and they rented jet-ski's to use off into the ocean. The resort we went to was beautiful and the beach was so beautiful!

Thursday - we were in Puerta Vallarta and took a jeep tour to a tequila factory, through the county and small villages, and stopped back in town at a restaurant. The guides gave us that bandanas to cover our faces from the dust. It was fun but hot and by the time to got to the restaurant we were all tuckered out.

The last two days were out to sea so we would play card games with his family and catch up on the movies that we never get a chance to see at home and got lots of naps. It was so much fun just getting to be together. Nate has to ham it up for the pictures since I bug him to be in them with me. Its not much longer and our little family of two becomes three and everything will change.

Last picture. We were sitting around in the lobby waiting to get off the boat.
